What does your best mom-self look like?

If you could describe your ideal self in the mom role, how would it look and how would you feel? Enjoying every moment? Not wishing the time away or not wishing for the next phase or stage of your kids’ life to take place? Love teaching them about every aspect of life. Love to see their cute little faces come home from school instead of dreading the door opening and the chaos that ensues afterwards. Enjoy being in their presence and not wanting bed time to come.

At one point in my life, I did not enjoy most aspects of being a mom. Morning would come and I dreaded getting out of bed and onto the daily routine. I would always think, “This is what motherhood really is, really?” Being tired, cooking, cleaning, carpools, running from school to piano or sporting practices, constantly have to reteach how to do a chore and the constant nagging, uggg. Then you would see all “those” other moms seemingly enjoying their lot in life and you come away scratching your head with “how is that even possible.”

Then my sister introduced me to energy work and it turned my life around. Energy work allowed me to break the chains of drudgery and allowed me to tune into my true mom self. After every energy session I feel stronger and my mothering abilities keep growing and I have stopped wishing time away and instead am constantly wishing for time to slow down. I can honestly say “I LOVE BEING A MOM!” It has been a true 180 turn around and I am loving who I am now.

So back to the question at hand, if you could describe your ideal mom self what would it look like? I can help you achieve that! I can help you love being a mom. I can help you love pushing your kid in the swing for hours on end. I can help you love seeing those faces come home from school. I can help you love all the moments of being a mom so much so that you will want time to stop. After your first session you will walk away with a new found sense of self and an empowerment you haven’t felt in a long time. Open you heart and mind and come connect to your mothering gifts. It is a remarkable feeling!

One top of energy work here are a few things I do on a daily basis.

  • Pray- Energy work does not take the place of prayer or relying upon God or a higher being for help. I pray multiple times to of day so I stay grounded, balanced and focused.

  • Scripture Study-Spirituality is so important to me and studying scriptures allows me a chance to learn and grow in my spirituality on a daily basis.

  • Breathing Exercises-Below I will walk you through my breathing routine.

  • Attaching affirmations to myself and my bracelets for the day.

  • Physical Exercise-This is my release. I absolutely love Barre, Yoga, Pilates, swimming, walking and HITT workouts. Shout out to BODi and @elisejoanfitness. I also love her flow workouts she does on the Fire and Flow program with @jerichomcmatthews. I like your energy too Jericho.

  • Flipping of Emotions-I blogged about emotions flipping here.

  • Having an attitude of gratitude. I blogged about this here.

You may feel like my list is a lot. Some of these I have worked into my daily routine for years and some I have started slowly over the last few years. It is totally doable to create a lifestyle that is living in positivity and letting go of the negativity all around you. Find where these could be placed in your routine already. Start with one and then work in the next and so on and so forth.

If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.

Breathing Routine

Get into a comfortable position whether it is in a chair, on the couch or laying on the floor or a bed. I personally like to sit in a chair. If you choose a chair have both feet on the ground. Rest your hands comfortable on your lap or next to you. There are times where I feel like I need to have my hand on my stomach to feel my breathes. There are other times that I have one or both of my hands over my heart. It all depends on what your energy is telling you need to feel at that time. Trust me, your body, mind and heart knows what it needs. Listen.

Most of the time we are shallow breathers so with this breathing routine really take your time taking good strong, deep breaths.

When you are breathing you want to take a breath all the way into your stomach and the up through your lungs. Like you are filling a water balloon. We have all seen how a water ballon is filled, that is how you want to breath to look and feel. Take good deep breath in through your nose and allowing it to fill your stomach and up through your lungs. Hold the breath for about three seconds and then release the breath through you mouth completely emptying your body of your breath. I do this ten times. Listen to your body. Sometimes you need to sit in the stillness and breath longer than ten times. Do what your body is telling you that you need. There are times in between the deep breaths that I need to breath normally for a few breaths then take in another deep breath. Do what feels right for your body.

Most of the time I am able to clear my mind and just breath and enjoy the oxygen flow and other times my mind in wandering. When my mind wanders, I try to focus on what I am worried about to see if an emotion flip will help, or I need to repeat some affirmations, if I need to journal or recognize an action I need to perform.

I also like to focus my breath on my minds eye or my third eye. I usually find my daily affirmations this way or colors that I need for the day.

This is also a great grounding technique.

Affirmations

I talk about affirmations all the time. So much so that my kids roll their eyes when I bring up an affirmation for them. My kids will learn how valuable affirmations really are...hehe. I have a blog post that you can find here where I describe affirmations and how I use them. I have also found some bracelets that I like and every morning I choose the bracelet that resonates with me and attach my affirmations that I have for the day to them. Every time I see my bracelet or I become aware of my bracelet my daily affirmations automatically flow through my mind. Here is a .pdf file of some SuperMama affirmations that you can print and hang them somewhere so you can remind yourself that you are truly a SuperMama. Or you can attach some of these affirmations to a bracelet or necklace that you wear. Psst, these work on dads and kids too. Just switch them around to have them fit with whomever. It really is that easy.

My bracelets of choice.

Let me help you along your ideal mom journey with an energy session. I promise you will not regret a single minute of our session together. You will discover an inner strength that you have forgotten about. Let me uncover and shake off the dust so you can feel empowered and feel like the Super Mama you want to be.

See you soon!

Sending much love!
